General Eliott

The pub is currently closed to business. The owners have given notice that they wish to dispose of it. The General Eliott was registered in 2016 as an Asset of Community Value after being nominated by the Oxford branch of the Campaign for Real Ale. The owners will only be able to sell the pub on the open market if no one submits by Boxing Day 2017 to the Vale of White Horse District Council an intention to buy the General Eliott for community use.

The recent reopening of this pub has revitalised the village and is a focus for the many people who stroll to the village or are on a longer walk to Boars Hill and beyond. One feels immediately welcome; the atmoshere is warm and friendly and the food is superb. Helen and Cass have an instant success on their hands…….well done!
